Finnish off licence chain Alko Oy is in a unique position in the country – a state owned operation with a monopoly; it deals with suppliers from across the globe and sells only to customers in its home market. It also finds itself in the unusual situation of seeking to maximise its business potential through the cost effectiveness in the sales of its alcoholic products, while also having a well-defined role in the health and social care of the nation.

Since 2006 Aldata has been the IT solution partner for Alko’s centralised Point of Sale system. Today almost 200 Alko stores are being managed centrally through Aldata’s core retail suite. The POS system is integrated into the main supply chain management system as well as in other customer solutions in real time, which ensures great customer service.
